Book: Inner Work of Racial Justice: Healing Ourselves and Transforming Our Communities through Mindfulness by Rhonda Magee

Novice priest Jissan Michelle Nicolle is offering a study and practice group to examine issues around racial justice, to dissolve personal barriers and to provide a path towards healing and change. The group will be deeply grounded in mindfulness practice and the Zen Peacemaker Three Tenets of not knowing, bearing witness and compassionate action in combination with the content of the book  “Inner Work of Racial Justice: Healing Ourselves and Transforming Our Communities through Mindfulness”, by Rhonda Magee, a Law Professor and Mindfulness Instructor (https://www.rhondavmagee.com/my-book/).

We will meet six times for 90 minutes each. The first meeting will be a time for introductions and discussion around the Three Tenets as a way to ground our work. Meetings 2-6 will be grounded in the mindfulness practices and reflections found in “The Inner Work of Racial Justice”. We will have a general format of a five minute opening meditation (silent), brief content review, modified council/discussion, and closing guided meditation (everything subject to change )

If you want to join in this study and practice group send an email to info@breadloafmountainzen.org
