Introduction to The Brahma Viharas or How to Befriend Everything.
There are four virtues mentioned in Buddhist teachings that are said to epitomize the highest expression of humanity and to be the ideal mode of conduct in relating to all situations, events, and people. Also called the Four Immeasurable Minds, or the Four Limitless Ones, they are viewed and utilized as skillful ways to develop relational resilience, as remedies and antidotes to greed, aversion and confusion, as transformations of mind and heart and as a complete pathway to awakening.
The purpose of this offering is to increase one’s knowledge, understanding and practice of these four inclinations of the heart(mind) and to explore how these profound practices can be integrated and embodied in daily life to benefit ourselves and others.
