Kosan Carla Callahan is a Zen nun and artist and she is living with ALS. Because of this disease she can no longer use her arms or legs but she figured out how to paint with her mouth!
Kosan has practiced Buddhism for 40+ years and was ordained at Bodhi Manda Zen Center in 2018. She was diagnosed with Atypical ALS in the same year. She has been painting with her mouth since 2021 and currently has painted over 100 original works of art.
