In the forward to Thich Nhat Hanh’s book, For A Future To Be Possible, Roshi Joan Halifax sees the Five Mindfulness Trainings as “crafting the art of living beautifully, honestly, and with strength and dignity.” I like this image as we consider the future of Bread Loaf Mountain Zen. In this half day working meeting, we’ll have the opportunity to envision the future of our Sangha.
Using the Five Buddha Family mandala (which Joshin will lead) as a framework for visioning discussions, we will articulate our vision for 1) spiritual practice, 2) community life, 3) social action, 4) study and training, and 5) sustainability and livelihood.
Please come with your own aspirations, hopes, and ideas.
