Dogen, the Precepts, and the Wild Fox

June 23, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Saturday June 23, 9:00am – 12:30pm
Dogen, the Precepts, and the Wild Fox
A Dharma Discussion with Kyodo Sinclair

Are we fundamentally good or fundamentally flawed? Kyodo, a Zen novice priest, buddhist chaplain, long term student of Dogen, and good friend of Bread Loaf Mountain Zen Community, will explore this question as part of our dive into the ethical precepts. By looking at Zen Master Dogen’s teachings, as well as his approaches to the fascinating Wild Fox Koan, we will look deeply, and in a down-to-earth way, into what it means to be practicing as an ethical human being in our daily lives and our complicated world.

This is a half day program, held at Bread Loaf Mountain Zen Community.

We will begin promptly at 9:00am and finish by 12:30pm. You are welcomed to stay for a potluck lunch afterward.

This is a dana-based program, which means there is no cost. However, donations will be gratefully accepted.
