Transforming End-of-Year Contributions into a Path of Practice
As the year draws to a close, many of us reflect on how we can make a meaningful impact in the world through our giving. “The Gift of Giving” is a program for donors who seek to deepen their philanthropic practice by embracing Zen master Dogen’s Four Embracing Dharmas in a grounded and practical way: Giving, Loving Speech, Beneficial Action, and Identity Action.
This program invites you to explore your relationship with giving, not merely as a financial or charitable transaction but as an expression of your deepest values and where those values intersect with the world’s unmet needs. Over the course of five sessions, including two half-day retreats with a small group of peers, you will nurture the heart of generosity, understand how your giving communicates what you care about, and learn to align your giving decisions with the outcomes you hope to achieve—fostering closer cooperation, connection, and solidarity with those around you.
By the end of the program, you will have a renewed sense of purpose and clarity, seeing your contributions not just as donations but as a living practice that benefits both self and others. Join us in transforming your end-of-year giving into a profound act of care and connection.
